29–30 November 2025

Malaysian Health Qigong Association (MHQA) Successfully Organised Health Qigong · Baduanjin Training Programme and Grading & Duan Examinations

To actively encourage community sports instructors and volunteers to engage in scientific fitness guidance, continuously enhance teaching quality, and build a higher-level public service system for Health Qigong, the Malaysian Health Qigong Association (MHQA) had successfully organised the Health Qigong · Baduanjin Technique Training Programme, Introductory Instructor Training Course, and Health Qigong Grading and Duan Examination on 29–30 November 2025 at INTI International University.

The core mission of this programme was to promote the concept of scientific fitness. Its objectives included: systematically enhancing the theoretical understanding and technical proficiency of Health Qigong Baduanjin instructors; improving overall public health and fostering harmonious physical and mental development; cultivating participants’ scientific understanding of Health Qigong; and strengthening awareness of standardised teaching and professional development.

The Association also clearly stated that, in the future, sports science principles and systematic training mechanisms will be progressively introduced. Through a tiered and standardised approach, MHQA aims to promote the professionalisation, standardisation, and sustainable development of Health Qigong, while encouraging more enthusiasts to participate in teaching, research, and promotional activities.

On the same day, activities included Health Qigong technical assessments, Health Qigong · Baduanjin introductory instructor teaching assessments, and written examinations. Upon completion of the training, certificates were awarded to participants who successfully passed the assessments, followed by a group photo session.

The training and assessments were conducted by members of the Association’s Development Committee, ensuring a professional and rigorous process.

Lead Lecturers and Trainers:

   • Dr. Chan Kok Kiong (Melaka Health Qigong Development Sub Committee)

   • Mr. Tan Boon Seng (Vice Chairman, Melaka Health Qigong Development Sub Committee)

   • Mr. Ng Chee Seong (Chairman, Negeri Sembilan Health Qigong Development Sub Committee)

Assessment and Review Panel:

   • Dr. Chan Kok Kiong

   • Mr. Ng Chee Seong

   • Ms. Cheong Chu Fong

The activities on 30 November were held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the INTI University Sports Hall, focusing on Health Qigong technical assessments and duan grading examinations. The grading covered Pre-Duan Level 1 to Junior Duan Level 2.

Participants came from a wide range of age groups and diverse ethnic backgrounds. The youngest participant was 16 years old, while the oldest was 73 years old. Participants included members of the Chinese community, Malays, and other ethnic groups, fully reflecting the diversity and inclusiveness of Health Qigong in Malaysia.

A key highlight of this grading event was the on-site announcement of technical assessment results, an innovative practice that significantly enhanced transparency and engagement. This allowed participants to clearly understand the gap between their current performance and the duan system standards, further motivating them to continuously improve both movement accuracy and cultivation quality.

In addition, the organisers introduced a Grading Motivation and Commendation Award to recognise participants who demonstrated rigorous performance and a serious learning attitude during the assessments.

During the event, a commendation ceremony was also held to honour the outstanding achievements of the Malaysian Health Qigong National Representative Team at the 3rd Traditional Sports Health Qigong Exchange competition.

Individual Competition Results:First Prize: 5 athletes,Second Prize: 3 athletes and Third Prize: 2 athletes

The MHQA noted that, in recent years, driven by scientific sports concepts, systematic training, and standardised teaching mechanisms, the overall technical level of athletes has improved significantly, with competition results surpassing those of previous years.

The smooth and successful implementation of this event was made possible with the strong support of the Seremban Zizai Fang Team, Negeri Sembilan. All team members contributed with a strong spirit of volunteerism, taking charge of technical flow at the examination venue, venue order and coordination, as well as the execution of the award ceremony.

Their professionalism, efficiency, and seamless teamwork ensured that the entire grading and award process proceeded smoothly and in an orderly manner.

The MHQA hereby extends its sincere gratitude and high appreciation to this united, selfless, and mission-driven team. It is precisely this spirit of unity and dedication that continues to drive the growth and development of Health Qigong in Malaysia.
